My guitar

So I told you I would make an article telling you about some of the features and stats of my new guitar. This article will be linked in my electric guitar page because they are good examples of pickups, bridges and general electronics.

Let's start with the body and the neck; they're made of mahogany.

The bridge is the LockTon Tune-O-Matic bridge. The Tune-O-Matic (TOM) bridge is famous on Gibson and Epiphone electric guitars. Most bridges are fixed in place however TOM bridges are able to be moved in certain aspects. You can lower the level of the bridge also called the action to bring the strings closer to or further away from the neck. The strings can also be shortened or lenghthened within limits, to give you different tuning. Another feature behind the bridge is the StopBar also know as a stoptail bridge, this allows the the tension of the strings to be slightly increased or decreased, depepending on preference.

The pickups are two humbucking Alnico Pro Pickups. Humbucking pickups do what their name suggests, they buck the hum. Without getting into the confusing electronics, they stop the pickups picking up the hum from other objects for example a phone or another guitar etc. There are two pickups, one for rhythm and one for treble. The rhythm pickup is located closest the neck and the treble closest the bridge. The guitar has a switch to change between either or both and seperate knobs for each pickup. The rhythm pickup is a deeper, richer tone while the treble is a crisp, bright tone. Both pick ups have a coil tap or coil splitting feature which lets you obtain a single coil sound. This makes the sound clean and glassy.

That's about all the electronic and mechanical parts of the guitar.
